Review summary

Have traveled on HAL to Alaska (Outstanding), Caribbean (Good) and now Iceland (Very good). But we are done with HAL. Just not enough entertainment for long cruises.

Embarkation

We had done early on-line check in with Holland America. We had an 11am show time in Copenhagen Cruise Port. The process was a disaster. The port staff were clueless and the HAL officers did not provide any guidance.

Food and Dining

Lido buffet was generally very good. Nice selection, lines moved quickly, food was well prepared.

Onboard Activities

There were no activities on at-sea days that were even vaguely interesting. Internet platform was tedious.

Entertainment

1. Lincoln Center musicians were first class - thoroughly enjoyed their shows (4 nights total). 2. Dance troupe was good, although needed some polish. 3. Illusionist was OK. 4. 'Truly Lionel' signer was awful...just awful.

Cabin staff and ship personnel were top notch...always friendly and eager to assist.

Ship Quality

Overall the ship was spotless. However, the high-traffic carpet in Lido buffet was stained and the elevator 'Day of the week' carpets looked worn.

Cabin / Stateroom

Nice cabin. But the only way to watch TV was sitting/laying on the bed. Couch was positioned under the TV. The other part of the suite was a desk and mirror. Not useful space. Bathroom and shower were excellent.
