We traveled as a group so we all had a nice time. Everyone thought the food and service was good. Everyone agreed that the entertainment was lacking and the sea days were actually boring during the afternoons. There was no lobster night which was surprising. It was available for an upcharge and the dessert choices were usually only three. This was our first cruise on Holland America. We prefer Royalcaribbean, Princess and Celebrity which matches our cruise style. So overall a nice cruise but probably our last on Holland America.

Buffet and MDR were very good. Pizza and burger places were ok. No lobster night and very limited desserts in tge MDR.
Onboard Activities

Pool decks were quiet during the day. No DJ or bands. Pretty difficult to get a chair by the pools even ad early as 10 am all are taken.
Entertainment

Bands in the BB King and Rolling Stones rooms were very good. Same comedian 2 nights in the theater. Dualing pianos in another lounge. Dance troupe in the theater are exceptional. There are no Broadway style or production shows at all. This is what we prefer, which is what's offered on other cruiselines we have done. Aside from the bands in the lounges, there was mot much going on on the theater. 2 nature inspired movies with background musicians, the dance troupe backed by a sound track and the same comedian both nights. Had the dualing pianos with the dance troupe one night. All performers were great.
Service and Staff

Entire crew was exceptional. Good service in the MDR and buffet and our room steward was great.
Ship Quality

Ship is beautiful and very clean. The design is strange. Some decks do not go all the way through and some elevators don't go to the top decks. The outdoor seating areas are undersized for a ship of thus size. Good luck ever finding a lounge chair by the pools.
Cabin / Stateroom

Nice comfortable cabin. Beds and pillows were great. Everything worked as expected and our room steward kept everything clean and well stocked. Bathroom was nice and shower was larger than expected.
Ship tip
Get to pool deck very early if you want a seat. Buffet reopens at 10:30pm for late night snacks. Order pizza and burgers from the Navigator app.
Rock room is always amazing. Didn’t have chair hogs before Covid. Food always good. Missing lobster who really cares. Loved the laid back vibe of Holland.
