We had a blast. Holland America is good for a nice relaxing cruise. We napped, drank, ate, and enjoyed the pool and music venues. We even bought a Future cruise credit which is good for 4 years. We seemed on the younger end of the clientele but everyone was having a good time.
Embarkation

One snag on embarkation but all and all it was pretty quick. Ft Lauderdale cruise port was like a well oiled machine.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Buffet was good. For the most part we were served. Wicked salad bar. People were using hand washing stations everywhere all over ship which was good as we were on it March 1-9 just as things were starting to get real.
Main dining room service was so good. No waiting and a good menu. We even had surf and turf one night. A little too fancy at times for my other half who is a meat and potatoes Englishman.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Loved the music venue but were packed most of the time. The layout of the ship is a bit weird and the venues alternate. The best was the blues club. Amazing! The one thing we missed were the shows. I don’t want to watch dancing. Meh! Small theatre was packed when comedians and magic show were on. People wanted more to do including us. No small prizes for trivia games but that isn’t a big deal.
Casino was small but the bar was great.
Entertainment

Oops. I pretty much answered this in last one. Stage shows- underwater film was good. Dancing show- not my thing. The music around the pool and ship was more age appropriate- classic rick, pop, and some country. (Not the hip hop crap that is played on some lines. Barf) There’s nothing worse than reading a book by the pool and loud pulsing bass aimed at 20 yr olds. Hurts my head the day after cocktails. 😉 Sshh! Let me drink in peace.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Excellent and friendly service wherever we went. We try to tip a bit extra whenever we can as the staff are working such long hours.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Very clean everywhere. Extra hand washing stations as well.
Cabin / Stateroom

We had a disabled obstructed cabin- lucked out I guess. It was huge and so was the balcony. It was spotlessly clean. Monstrous tv and best tv/movie channels of all the cruise lines.
Ship tip
We bought the beverage package which was totally worth it.
We took a cab to Royal Palm beach which cost us $10 each way. Was pretty busy as Carnival Glory was also in port. Almost like spring break vibe and too busy for this chick. Still beautiful though.
We took a private excursion which was fun. We had a bar to ourselves and tried Jamaican beer. Saw where the locals lived and drank a bucket o beer at the local beach. The tour company was Tour Jamaica today. We were gone 4 or 5 hours and had a blast.
