Review summary

This was our 15th cruise and first on Holland America Line. As frequent cruisers on Princess, we had the impression that this cruise line was for “older” people. Not only were we wrong about our fellow cruisers, we were surprised by the high quality of service by the crew, the food, and live music. The ship was modern and comfortable and not too crowded unlike many mega ships today. In summary, we will sail again on HAL and highly recommend it to others.

We too, have sailed other lines, and HAL is our favorite because of the high quality of service - it's like being treated like royalty. I still love sailing different lines and ships. Just so exciting.

We loved Nieuw Amsterdam also. Everything was wonderful. Crew always smiling and friendly. Food absolutely. Definitely will go back.
