Fun times for all ages

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

I traveled on the Nieuw Amsterdam with my parents and sister (we are both adults, but still love traveling with our parents). We had a great time relaxing and being active whenever we wanted. There were lots of activities and nice stops. (although some were quite short if you did not want to get off the ship at 7am.)
We went to the art auctions, and although had no intention of buying anything considerable - I walked away an art collector. It was loads of fun and the auction staff were wonderful!
While the ship has all of the basic amenities, including the popular adults-only pool and whirlpools, it can not compete with the mega ships.

Pros: Great staff and lovely ship

Cons: Entertainment

Recommends Nieuw Amsterdam? Yes!

Entertainment
Activities were good, singing and dancing entertainment was weak. Although one night there was a great comedian!
Cabin / Stateroom
Service and Staff
Ship Quality
Very reasonably sized and good amenities, but nothing exotic like the mega-ships
Food and Dining
