Review summary

Nav of the Seas is a lovely ship with a wonderful crew. Catalina is a nice port if the weather is nice, but Ensenada is not so much. If you have kids there is quite a bit for them to do on the ship if the weather is nice. And with the short cruise days and the price point I think you can get great value for your money.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Dining Room Staff was exceptional! Dining Room food was very good nights 2,3,4. The first night I would just do the buffet due to wait times in the Dining Room if you are doing Anytime Dining and haven’t made a reservation. Make reservations for the rest of the evenings.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

The Royal Caribbean Band was fantastic! The quality of the show performers and the costumes were excellent but unfortunately I felt the routines and accompanying music selections were outdated and sexist - serving up a beautiful (and not at all diverse) cast of women as sex objects.

Service and Staff

All crew, but especially the waiters and room stewards, were amazingly friendly and helpful.

Cabin / Stateroom

Loved our cabin and the fact that the bed was the closest thing to the balcony (as opposed to a couch or a desk). The bathroom was roomy for a ship and the shower was an excellent size as the shape was rounded with closing doors.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

Just got on and off the ship here.

Catalina Island, California

Our weather was June Gloom. This would be an amazing port if the weather was warmer and we could have spent time on the beach.

Ensenada, Mexico

We did a Shore Excursion because we did not feel like we would feel safe wandering around alone. This is not a pretty Mexican destination and I would not go back.
