Review summary

This was our 1st Mexican Riviera cruise, so wasn’t sure what to expect. The ship was better than expected and the one port stop was okay. I think if we return to Cabo, we may book a tour to get further inland to explore the area more. The scenery looked beautiful. The ship, crew, dining and activities all met or exceeded our expectations. I would cruise on the ship again.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Arrived during our scheduled timeframe and was on the ship 15 minutes after drop off.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All of our dining experiences were very good. Ate breakfast in Windjammer and MDR, and both were very good. Dinners at Hooked, Jamie’s and Chops. Probably our worst visit to Chops in many years. Service was a little off for their premier restaurant. Hooked and Jamie’s food and service were exceptional. Highly recommend Hooked.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Lots of things to keep you busy. Many fun activities. The water slide/blaster was really fun.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Really good, but a step down from the bigger/newer ships that we’ve been on.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the staff that we had contact with were amazing

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It’s an older ship, but it is apparent that it has been renovated recently. All of the common areas are fresh and updated. Very nice ship. One of our favorites that we’ve sailed on.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Comfortable, clean junior suite. Center aft balcony with 2 chairs, 2 loungers, and 2 tables. Spent quite a bit of time relaxing on our balcony instead of fighting for a pool deck lounger.

Ship tip

Check in as soon as you can on the app and show up during your time slot. Tons of people were lined up waiting that showed up too early.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

Did not visit San Pedro, but our short stay in Long Beach was okay. A little dirty.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

4 out of 5
Typically Mexican cruise port. Beautiful scenery.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Had a late flight, so we stayed on as long as possible. Walked right off. Getting an Uber/Lyft took a while. None available when we got off.
