Review summary

We needed to get away, be together unbothered by daily life, and be pampered just a bit. We know this is exactly what we get aboard the Navigator of the Seas, or on any Royal Caribbean Cruise. It's exactly what the Dr. ordered.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
San Pedro isn't the most elegant environment, but it was clean and efficient.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The friendliness, welcomeness, fun, food, cleanliness and overly healthy guidelines made it exactly what we needed; an opportunity to fall off the planet for a few days.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Trivia contests, laying out by the pool, waterslides, mini-golf, people watching, an ice & stage show; so much relaxation AND excitement.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The ice show and stage show were very good. The drones in the ice show were amazing. The stage show was short, time wise; under 50 minutes. Expected longer.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Over the top friendly and impeccable service from everyone onboard, but none more than the Main Dining Room wait staff.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was recently plussed, reimagined, remodeled and revitalized. We sailed on this ship in 2009 and it is still so beautiful, modern and clean. The upgrades are excellent.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Mattress was a bit firm, the wear on the interior cabinets and finishes is just starting to show.

Ship tip

Leave the world behind and have fun! "Fall off the planet".

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

Nothing to see or do.

Ensenada, Mexico Did not visit port

We have been to Ensenada several times on past cruises. We've been there and done that. Staying onboard was what we planned to do.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
7:30-8:30 is rather early to depart the ship after 3 days on board. Again, San Pedro is not a luxury environment.
