Review summary
This cruise was a bonus one for us, as we have already done two out of our home port of Galveston. We flew in to San Diego to meet friends and drove up with them on the day of the cruise. Embarkation was a breeze and we were on the ship before our allotted boarding time of 11:30. Enjoyed a great embarkation day lunch at El Loco Fresh before getting in to the cabin around 2:00. Unfortunately the weather was cold and gray and the ship was having some kind of mechanical issue making it cold inside too. We ended up not sailing until after 11:00 pm but since the next day was a sea day this was not an issue. The sea day was cold and windy, but we were on a ship so we were good. Main dining room dinner service was outstanding and food was very good. Entertainment was hit or miss. I didn’t particularly like the production show, Showgirls, but the orchestra was excellent as were the dancers. There were three comedians, one good (same one we saw on Adventure in November) one we missed, and one who was very politically motivated and would have been booed off the stage on a Texas cruise! Covid-19 protocols were followed most of the time, with elevator protocols being skipped most often. Needless to say it’s hard to keep to only 5 people in an elevator when there are 1700 people on board. Even though that’s about 50% capacity, everyone wants an elevator after the show! We loved our cruise and can’t wait to be back on board Navigator in March.Embarkation
