Review summary
We took this cruise specifically to visit the Ports of Boston and New York. They were cancelled before the cruise began and we were NEVER notified. There were then several itinerary changes allegedly due to weather and also one to repair a hole in the hull below the waterline. We should never have sailed with the ship in this condition. The ship lost a couple of the stabilizers (causing the hull damage allegedly) and therefore very often was rough riding and many passengers were sea sick. The Crown and Anchor lounge could not accommodate all the crown and anchor members aboard and a separate lounge was set up but it did not meet the demand either. So much for their premium perks?? I could continue but look at it this way - this cruise was doomed and never should have left port!!Embarkation
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
Schooner Bar
This is our normal place to relax when onboard. However this Schooner Bar was not as good as any of the others we have visited. Bar staff was not as attentive to customers as we are accustomed to
Viking Crown Lounge
Not enough room in this lounge for all the C&A members aboard. A separate lounge was added to handle the overflow but it was insufficient as well and just did not meet the standard we expected.
Onboard Activities
Skylight Chapel
One of the Officers organized Veterans meetings. If there was one highlight on this ship - it was the Veterans meetings. Very interactive and just good to be with other vets. The ship could not find a place to hold these meetings so we ended up using the skylight chapel - deck 13 and it was a welcome meeting place
