Review summary

You call this a nice review!!!  It only shows you didn't read a word of what I wrote.  Thanks for wasting my time.

The ship & crew were fine.  The food was not good.  Not up to Royal Caribbean's standards.

The experience at the terminal was sinful. To have thousands of people in the terminal without A/C with only bottled water to sooth our anger & extreme discomfort was disgraceful.  I had ordered a wheelchair for my husband.  They were all used.  Finally I contacted personnel to get us out of line.  My husband is 91, I'm almost 88.  We couldn't stand any longer.  After being moved from place to place, they finally got us aboard.  Needless to say, we were completedly exhausted.  Royal Caribbean didn't offer any perks to help sooth our anger.  We will think twice before using this cruise company again.

Understand the frustration but again.... The port has NOTHING to do with Royal Caribbean. It is a port... A stop to get on and off. Why should Royal Caribbean be punished for what happened at the port???

duby3310 I understand your frustration with the wheelchair. I am trying to talk my mom in to going on a cruise. I really think that she would enjoy it... For once having someone take care of her, I would be thrilled just seeing that. I know she would not be able to stand in line for a long period of time due to knee and back problems. So I really hope they make some changes. What ever happen to looking out for the elderly???

Judy & Dave, your complaints are valid. My wife and I experienced the same thing sailing from Ft. Lauderdale this past April. We had the same EXACT experience with no A/C in the terminal, the water jug they had outside where we had to wait for a wheelchair was empty and when staff was told, they ignored the issue. They had no control system on the use of the wheelchairs even though we had requested the service through Princess prior to sailing. Use of the wheelchairs to board was on the "Honor System" and needless to say, with so many dishonorable in the world, there were many jumping the line and the staff couldn't care less. You have to keep in mind though, all these valid complaints fall into the hands of the Ft. Lauderdale ports authority, NOT Royal Caribbean. Royal has no control on how the port operates so if you had a good time on the Navigator, don't be so quick to shoot down Royal Caribbean, just sail from a different port next time. Perfect example of this is it is port services personell that push you in the wheelchair until you pass check-in and then a ships crew member takes you onboard. Bon Voyage.....
