Review summary

The boat was nice, the meals were good, and the excursions at our ports were terrific... However, this was all overshadowed by the overarching theme that the large majority of the Royal Caribbean employees on this ship were rude, didn't smile, didn't apologize when they needed to... And quite frankly didn't do anything to make us feel special or valued.  We had numerous bad experiences with bartenders, casino workers, and check-in people. Our 3+ hours in the heat waiting to board the ship on Day 1 (followed by no opportunities to buy drink packages once on the boat) really set the stage.   I got much better service on Norwegian and Carnival.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Sapphire Dining Room was one of the bright spots

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
People running the sports tourneys should have a clue about the game(s)

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Good comedy and ice dancing show

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
Not many stuck around for the "Teen Pool Party"

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Seriously, I felt like I was burdening people by asking for a drink or to buy chips at the blackjack table, etc.

Ship Quality

Nice big ship

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Nice balcony room

Ship tip

Book a room on the 8th floor so you can walk up or down to either the 11th or 5th floors (where most action was) ... As the elevators seemed to take FOREVER to come.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

Starting point. Not much there. Bad parking and traffic set up.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Dolphins and stet park a must!

George Town, Grand Cayman

3 out of 5
Nice beaches, but you need to be ready for the necessary taxi ... And catching the small tender boat from ship to shore was a bad experience

Falmouth, Jamaica

5 out of 5
Zip-lining a must
