Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Drinks were great, however, the food was uneventful, we splurged for 3 nights at specialty restaurants because food/service in main dining room and food on buffet was just basic at best. And, I am not a burger and fries kind of person, I was expecting a much better selection of food, pizza was ok but sadly best food on buffet in my opinion was the make your own sandwich bar and salad bar. We had the Ocean Cay Specialty Restaurant twice, seafood tower was great and the Black Cod was amazing. We had the Chef’s Table at the Butcher’s Cut on our last night, food was amazing however, way too much food for us, it was a four course meal consisting of appetizers, seafood tower, a 20 oz ribeye steak (which I substituted a filet) and dessert. My husband and I could have split the filet and been happy..

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the activities, not too over the top but still fun

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Went to two shows, this is the only time we saw the cruise director. Shows wet ok, singers were good though. Saw the Michael Buble tribute show and the Michael Jackson tribute show. Dancers were good at the MJ show but based on other reviews I thought it would knock your socks off, but it didn’t for us.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Bar service was exceptional, wait staff in main dining was very slow but I think it was just our particular waiter, everyone else seem to get speedy service. Our first night In main dining took about an hour and 45 minutes to get our entree, we went back a second time to give it another chance on gala night but it was still slow, not as bad as the first night, but still slow.

Cabin / Stateroom

If I had it to do over again, I would not choose this room, view for a balcony was not great and I don’t remember reading that their was obstructed views before choosing it, an oceanview would have been equivalent because we didn’t go out on the balcony at all due to the views

Ship tip

You may want to spurge for the specialty restaurants if you are not looking for hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, or pizza everyday. The remainder of the food was just uneventful which surprised me. And the bread…let’s just say stick with the focaccia, it’s the softest of the choices

Disembarkation

Easy…we carried our own bags and was in our car in 28 minutes and we did wait in a line but it was extremely fast to go through it

I'm seriously thinking of sailing on MSC ships in the Yacht club. I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise. Thank you for your review.

Interesting review! Seems like the specialty restaurants are almost an excursion .... you go for the experience.
