Review summary

Ship was very nice. Not alot of big open spaces on inside. Lots of space outside to sit. In sea days those spaces fill up early. Food was just average. Pizza was awesome! Staff and other guests were not very nice. Ports were awesome. Their private island wasn't ready. So they stop at Tortula and Amber cove. Very nice change. I enjoyed my week but will never cruise MSC again

Food and Dining

Not enough variety. Same food on buffet every day. Main dining room was at best average. Desserts were disappointing.

Ship tip

If you want a lounge chair out on deck, you better get there early. People save chairs with towels as early as 6am. Staff wasn't very friendly. Other guest were rude

You can’t reserve seats. Next time you cruise if there is a towel folded just sitting there and you see that no one is using it. Then just take it. I do that all the time. Either your butt is in the seat or you lose it. No saving seats.

I hope it improves

We are social people we like to meet new people, relax and have a good time. We found it odd that unlike the other cruise ships you are not allowed to sit on, at or even near the pool ledge. At least we weren’t without getting a whistle. You have to stay on your chair. However when we would go over to the kids water park area we could stand and sit on the stone wall and have a drink with our friends from Ireland. Also the bar between the water park area and jungle pool that are both open till 10pm close at 6pm. Just found that odd. People like to socialize and relax. The pool in the back I didn’t like that it was half smoking because it wondered over to the “non smoking “ side. No type of barrier in between. The ship is beautiful and the sports bar is nice.

I have to agree with all reports of MSC. I’ve been on them twice. Very rude Europeans and I’m from Europe! Actual ships and pizza are amazing ! You cannot beat American customer service and that is why I’ll not sail MSC again (no matter how much cheaper they are )

We are on the Seaside in July 2020. As a Brit I love making new friends but hate rudeness. I hope things improve as cruising is not a cheap holiday.

Interesting

When I was reading up on the differences that’s one the main things I read was the rudeness. The main thing I encountered was in line at the buffet or the elevator which can take forever they just butt right in line but I read that’s their culture. MSC is definitely not geared towards Americans.... couldn’t even get a chocolate chip cookie. I had a sad toddler.

I was on the seaside in February and I agree as far as people....I was surprised at how rude the europeans were on the ship. Otherwise I was happy with the cruise and am sailing on Meraviglia in january. Know that I know what to expect as far as rude people, I'll be more prepared
