Review summary

Having read many negative reviews I was braced for disappointment. The opposite happened! I loved it!!the highlights were the entertainment and the Private Island stop. It was an exceptional value.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Arrived at our appointed time- smooth boarding.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was good- not spectacular but perfectly fine. Drinks were great.

Jungle Beach Bar

5 out of 5

If you have a drink package be sure to get the fresh squeezed orange juice here before breakfast at the buffet- or anytime!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
If you want to join in for Trivia, Name That Tune or just enjoy the entertainment at Times Square plan on arriving early to get a seat. It’s usually full.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Be sure to book a spot for the Madison Theater shows the evening before or first thing in the morning. They sell out (though ‘sell’ is not accurate, it’s free!). The shows are GREAT! The singers and dancers are first rate.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our waiters at dinner were great and most bartenders good. One odd thing was that I never met my cabin steward. We don’t require a lot of attention so I didn’t seek him/her out. I would have liked a run down on the cabins features unique to MSC procedures like the switches high on the wall by the door indicating ‘don’t disturb’ or ‘make up room’. I only noticed them after another guest made mention of them several days in!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was exceptionally clean. My only concern was that the soap dispensers everywhere were not very generous dishing out soap.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5

Ship tip

Bring a bar of soap-only liquid provided.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We kept our suitcases to walk off ourselves. We waited on Deck 16 by the Jungle Pool after breakfast at the Marketplace until I figured things had cleared out on the disembarking deck 6. There was no way to tell how things were going until we actually ventured down. I’m not sure I’d do it that way again. With no announcements I’m sure we waited longer than necessary but we were in no rush and walked right off.
