To all you YC snobs, you’re getting played for fools. If you want a small ship, don’t try to buy garbage exclusivity from a second tier confused wannabe mainstream cruise line.

Food and Dining

Yacht club poolside food was pretty much the same every day, and true to MSC, there were several periods during the day where there was no food available in the YC.

There was no entertainment in the YC. The pool bar even closed at about 9:00pm. It was pitiful.

This is from a YC experience perspective. I know apologists will chime in, but frankly it was awful and I don’t care what you think. Total waste of money. Here goes. Toilet didn’t flush, only one bathrobe, never refilled mini bar, room not cleaned until some cleaning (not vacuumed) in the second day, didn’t meet the butler until 9:00pm on the last night, didn’t meet the room steward till then either (both literally said they were “too busy” to stop by before that), the bottles you are supposed to pick and get - Champaign never delivered, vodka dropped off at 5:00pm on the last day so what are we supposed to do with that? MSC YC was a debacle clown act that was on par with Bella. As I type this, kids are running down the hall screaming.
Ok, I’m done. YC sucked.

The shower is the smallest ever conceived. The reason there is no foot bar in the shower is you’ll bash your head off the wall leaning over. Definitely do not drop the soap. Also, there is no way a normal human can face forward on the toilet because their right leg is pushed to the left by the counter. The bed is comfortable though, but for a YC level expectation the room is awful. Garbage at a premium price.
Ship tip
Don’t expect to walk in a straight line anywhere. The ship design is nightmarish with dead ends and choke points. The ship is a beautiful, unrepeatable mess.
I don’t know what this South Atlantic thing is about. We went to Ocean Cay and the YC area only had a single stall bathroom. Pee in the ocean and expect a rockier beach than Grand Turk. It’s not good.
Good for you, 1960. Maybe you got our booze and mini bar stuff. They even managed to put someone else’s future cruise documents in our room. We had one YC waiter who was terrific with us. We also had other non-YC crew that were great. But we will never bother with the YC again. Total waste of money.
Believe what you want, but the experience we received didn’t match any of the hype and marketing from MSC. We did meet the butler a second time this morning though - to tell us when to get off the ship. And to one person who responded, yeah, champaign and a butler because we paid for it, but we didn’t get what we paid for. Not even close.
@HoustonLady1, the review that was written in my opinion is total nonsense. I've cruised in the YC on Seascape, and I had a great time, with great food, and exceptional service. Was it 100% perfect, absolutely not, cause after 40 cruises I still have yet to have the perfect cruise. The person who wrote this review is choking on a bitter pill, and it's obviously someone told him "no" and that has set him off. Although the YC is pricey, if you have the funds, yiu should do it. I spent about 80% of my time in the YC versus general population, but I still received good, quick service in the lounges. My mini fridge was always stocked, the comp liquor was delivered on first night, and I saw my butler several times a day, and he was always willing to go that extra mile.
Houstonlady - to be fair, my experience is only a single data point, and there are clearly many people who love the YC experience. However, we apparentlydid not receive whatever that is supposed to be. Perhaps we are an outlier, but I certainly appreciate your comment.
Thanks, cruising2004. It wasn’t terrible if we weren’t YC. But we tried YC and I gave my review from that perspective. If we had gone as a regular Fantastica cruiser it would have been a 4/5.
