Not impressed very disappointed in msc our family would have a blast anywhere and im glad all our family members where open minded during our trip. It was Not a wow crusie unless you created your own memories and entertainment like we always do - this cruise was not our highlight of family crusies with MSC we have already booked w the crusie lines we know such as Royal n Carnival and we know that we will get what we wow Fuzzy feeling for what we paid for

Food and Dining

Food certainly not up to normal crusing standards dining room experience superseded the premium dining would not waste your time or money truly a let down we where and trying to get a drink was a task. I only wanted a glass of house
Wine to enjoy with my food. How many times can you order a simply drink and your appetizer arrives before your 1st drink at dinner...then next night at Japanese experience did not get my beer until my salad.... and Our chef was new dropped most food on floor put seafood on a lady plate who had allergies to seafood and did not do the normal fun entertainment it was skipped ....so the whole table lost interest overall that experience was terrible - the steak house food was cold again my bread came before our drinks then wrong drinks...and had to wait again and we where never asked for second drink.....staff where missing But after paying for this extra dinner experience we where made to feel little since we did not want to upgrade another 50$ per person to have a bigger steak - just not classy and since we declined our service for the $ steak house it made our experience feel as though we where not worthy since we pd $59 but did not pay extra $50 - lunch in dinning our coffee n drink arrived during appetizer no bread offered and we left before dessert arrive after an hour n half = simply we gave up - all the little details you normal receive on a crusing staff where Iacking the staff overall where super friendly put after paying $1100 per person for 5 day trip = unfortunately the staff where all not on the same team and that team is expected on any cruise at any price

Oh terrible.... the one show we went too see on 1st night was so cheesy and a quater of the audience left thinking it was over then the show lasted for another 10 mins..so everyone was standing around. I'm sure all crew are individually very talented but the entertainment crographer placing these entertainers togther well he or she where grasping. Only Karokie - but their was absolutely no adult entertainment the late hours where lacking the typical comedy hour or that typical funny adult show that you spend an hour asking yourself why you came then you leave feeling giddy..... the so called nightclub the dj did not play 2 nights so the young adults took over the area with cellphone radio and boom box... the fun in late hour fun was not their ... the kiddy clubs seemed happening but if you where over 18 well you had to fend for yourselves. Everyone self entertained and everyone was enjoying their memories that where creating but that's another point of cruising when your an adult is that you pay the cruise line for entertainment- anyone you spoke to to had been on Royal Carnival or Norwegian etc we where all disappointed with msc
Pools closed so early and the one pool area was a complete sweat box if you entered the air even by mistake you rushed out...and especially with the no air circulation and heat it seemed a breeding ground for jerms

Effort where certainly their but they where all no playing on the same team. Our crew steward was however exceptional and by far the best we have encountered in our 35 cruises
Ship Quality

Beautiful very clean classy design and for such a huge boat an easy following boat with ample of place to enjoy your surroundings- but all very sterile ... the yatch club does take up a large amount of space that if your not an Elite member those areas are restricted
The one pool heat box area was in our mind a complete wasted space... chocolate bar was so crowded and shops where small small overall. Not very visitor friendly that when you looked in shops no one was in them..
Cabin / Stateroom

Absolutely Phenomenal cabin the deck was huge and nice flow going inside to outside. Our cabin steward Kim was exceptional by far the best we have incounteted in our so many 35 cruises. Kim was Extremely helpful very kind and full of energy and life. He needs to be promoted. We sincerely appreciate him and for balancing our other encounters with msc staff
Ship tip
Consider why MSC? Your Purpose with MSC and what your expectations are? If your looking to read a book and relax - yes. If your looking fir fine dining and entertainment some fun - no.
The Miami port staff where amazing and sincerely all where on top of their game. Note no wheelchairs from your car to the boat if your needing assistance.... fyi
Excellent fun knowledgeable and friendly Beautiful.... with all the mass of excellent shopping a whole selection of shops in an amazing designed area. You can enjoy a delicious meal by their pool open to public or watch the dolphins at one of their cute bars or enjoy the beautiful clean family environment beach. So much culture and by far one of our favorite ports. Super Friendly atmosphere and extremely safe if your a first timer. You do not have to plan an excursion if your looking for a relaxing family day by a pool beach bars and shops. It's the Prefect Port.
This is a review on port not on island- Omg I have to be honest and I am so greatful to be crusing again and visiting islands.. but Honestly it was the worse port we have ventured too after crusing for 25 years. I was in a wheel chair and the path to shop area was pretty but w pathier it was a little extreme on body in a chair - and when we got to shop area it was so compact...all pushed into a small space and so many people 3 boats it was overcrowded and overwhelming and how you can mush 4 or 5 bars and 15 shops in such a small area was uncomfortable (regardless of being in a wheel chair) it was not the normal port of roatan we normally arrive too and where both equally disapponted knowing our other family members and all new friends we met took cabs to other parts of the island they had a blast I was at a disadvantage because of in chair.
But please note... knowing Roatan is absolutely beautiful and Breathtaking and the diving is heavenly..beachs dreamy and people friendly food yummy and all excursions are five star and a day of fun creating new memories- pleased my advise would too book an excursion or cab elsewhere and enjoy your time as you will appreciate and do deserve on a trip to Roatan. I do realize w covid the new restrictions but it does not reflect the area of space that was created as this port and lack of entertainment to do if not booking an excursion or taking a cab. It was too much in one space and overpowering and especially with covid people where uncomfortable trying to follow covid guidelines... and you could see some people left and went back to boat (like what we did)
My suggestion is pay more and go on RCl , Carnival or NCl
Yes it cost $ 500 to $700 more some with no drink or wifi expect NCL.
It's the old saying you get what you pay for go cheap you will get cheap.
You do have to remember it is about $500 to $700 dollars cheaper then RCL, Carnival for a basic balcony cabin and you get the drinks + package and browsing wifi included, most promotions also offered a $ 100 on boad credit per a person. You get want you pay for trying to save money. I do lower my expectations because if that reason.
I didn't even know it was a thing that drinks are supposed to be served before they put the bread on the table. I wonder how many times I would have been disappointed if I'd known. Ignorance is bliss.
Thanks for the review. I’m looking forward to my first MSC cruise in a few weeks. A good book, some crossword puzzles and my balcony are all I need for entertainment. I’m happy with a burger and fries or buffet items, so hopefully food will not be an issue.
