Q: What happens if you arrive before your embarkation time? On our one and only cruise, we had the first embarkation time slot and were one of the first to arrive but still waited 2 hours before they started to board the boat. This time, we were given the last boarding time of 3-4p but wanted to try to board around 1-2.

A: I assume you're talking about their private island. If so, no. It's a marine reserve, so pretty much all just natural beauty without gimmicks.

Q: What suggestions does anyone have for disembarking if you’re not in a hurry to get off the ship. Can you linger anywhere comfortably to avoid joining a long line?

A: the buffet is the area to wait you eat breakfast and waitalso if it is outdoor the better you can see the last view before leaving the ship
Answered by Razor78 on February 23, 2024
A: You can also go to the Main Dining Room for a sit-down breakfast. They have you leave big luggage at the entrance to the restaurant. Take your smaller stuff in with you, like backpacks / purses. It’s a last leisurely meal, and it will take at least... an hour, so you’ll be in comfy chairs or bench seating in a quieter, more relaxed environment.See More

A: For cruises where we have late flights back or no final excursion we just hang in the buffet until they toss us off. All the cruise lines we’ve been on (including MSC) serve breakfast there during disembarkation and we usually wander off the ship at... 9:30 or 10:00.See More

A: Ship has to be cleared by 8. They have to turn it around and cleaned for new cruisers. That’s a lot of work to get done before people start filing back in. Maybe if u ask. Don’t hurt to ask. 💜🛳️

Q: I see there is a complimentary hour at the Thermal Area for Gold Voyager Club members. Is this easy to do and worth it? Also see a Welcome Back Party and a “gift” offered. I got the Gold designation from their loyalty match so would appreciate any hints as a MSC first timer.

A: We didn't get a gift last time but I was told by others you have to ask at guest services. We enjoyed the 1 hour spa. I would do it on one of your port days so it's less crowded.
Answered by NikkiPierman on February 19, 2024
A: The welcome back party is nice and they usually have snacks and free champagne! I always have to go to the Desk for my free gift except once it was left in our room on the last night. The spa is awesome!
Answered by Dappel on February 19, 2024

A: This is more of a question than an answer. I am gold, but my husband is not. Does he get too experienced that one hour with me for free in the thermal area or just me?
Answered by motita on May 5, 2024
A: Nope. Just remember to match to your highest status. Airline, cruise line, hotel, it all works, but you can only match once per lifetime. Unlike most things MSC, their control of that seems to work correctly and it’s enforced. You also have to sa... il with them every 3 years or you lose all your status.See More
Answered by TheVegasSphere on February 19, 2024
A: YOU can also use your airline loyalty or hotel loyalty for the match. IT doesn't have to be a cruise line....
Answered by XtraviX on February 18, 2024
A: Nope. As long as you have cruised once on another cruise line you can status match to classic level and save 5% on booking. they match hotel status as well.

A: Yes, you can prepay gratuities. You can also add a credit card when you check in online for charges onboard so you don't have to go to a kiosk onboard. We did both last time and all went smoothly.
Answered by queenie504 on February 17, 2024
A: No prepaying in the US. They’ll charge your room every day (or actually it seems every few days kind of randomly) for gratuities. MSC is its own weird thing.
Answered by TheVegasSphere on February 15, 2024
A: Yes, you can absolutely prepay them if you wish. if you used a travel advisor they can quickly and easily do this for you. If you booked direct, simply call.
Answered by RobinTA on February 18, 2024
