Review summary

Nice ship, great staff, excellent main dining and Aurea package is worth it for the solarium access and flexible dining, but not much else, it really should offer more value.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
A bit haphazard but overall went quick and smooth. Definitely not enough information given.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining and taco restaurant were excellent. Hibachi food was mediocre at best, although staff was fantastic. Buffet left a LOT to be desired, decent choices but food was mostly bland. Even the claim to fame pizza was lacking. Drinks for non-alcoholics is very limited from both selection to availability around the ship.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Geriatric daycare is what I would equate it to.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Entertainment felt like a high school production.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was mostly fantastic, with our stateroom and main dining attendants being standout.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship is clean and well maintained. Central smoke filled casino is not ideal.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was great, mostly well kept (some stains on dresser) and balcony was nice. Shower was a tad bit small, and we are all thin people. Toilet was crammed next to sink, taller people couldn't sit straight on it, had to angle yourself off to the side.

Ship tip

Avoid the centrally located casino, it's a smoke filled nightmare.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5
Miami is nothing special, would have preferred another city / port. Tour guides were nice but everyone else seemed to be annoyed by your presence outside of the tourist trap stores and shops.

Falmouth, Jamaica

2 out of 5
Had high hopes for Jamaica or at least wanted it to be good. Reality was, Falmouth to Ocho Rios is a giant rubbish pile. Would give another city a shot - maybe.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
Clean, well kept, friendly and easy to get around on your own. Food was overpriced for what it was.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
We had rain 3/4 of the day, roads were flooded, taxis still running and we were able to get around and do our own thing. Unfortunately, what we saw was pretty bleak. But everyone was friendly and helpful and food was fantastic.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

4 out of 5
This was the best part of the trip. Island was recently rebuilt and is clean and decently maintained. Some rough edges but nothing to concerning. MSC's ability to run the island is a different question. The lunch buffet was a disaster, not well communicated and ran out of popular items. It was also abruptly closed and people redirected to some awful food trucks with 7 items on the menu and which had also run of most items.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was smooth and fast. Again, Aurea package gives you an edge here.
