Overall very good first time cruising with MSC. Definitely planning on a repeat voyage next year.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
It was a breeze. Less than 30 minutes from getting off the shuttle to stepping on board.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Wonderfully delicious food in the Yach Club restaurant and pool deck buffet. Diverse international selection that changes daily. I enjoyed Italian, Turkish, French and Indian food to count a few.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
From several pools, to a large water park with 4 or 5 big water slides, to an arcade. This ship lacks for nothing.
Entertainment
We did not attend shows as we were traveling with two young children
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
Very friendly staff at the kids' club. They had different activities throughout the voyage. One evening they threw a kids party on the big pool deck with competitions, prizes and face painting.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Staff was very busy during Spring break week yet worked very hard to accommodate all the guests on board. Always smiling and happy to help.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Being our second family cruise ever, I don't have much to compare it too. For its size, it did not feel as large or well laid out as NCL's Prima. The halls felt smaller and ceilings lower although admittedly this may have been an illusion it was nevertheless our impression.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Cabin is very clean and functional. Would have appreciate more room traveling in a party of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids. When the pullout sofa is turned into a bed, accessing the balcony is not possible without disturbing whomever is sleeping on that bed.
We enjoy Cozumel. The port is clean and organized. We did "Playa Mia" excursion. The beach was extremely overcrowded, and not all too clean. Again this was Spring Break. The water park was a big hit with the kids and they didn't want to leave. The food was ok.
Stunning island and beaches. That turquoise/emerald water you see in pictures. We did a beach day excursion and enjoyed it quite a bit. Very expensive island/excursion options.
We were originally supposed to dock in Ocho Rios but the itinerary was changed a couple months prior to our trip. Because our kids were younger, we were looking for beach type excursions and all were 1-1.5 hours in transfers EACH WAY for a total of 2-3 hours max on the beach. We stayed on the ship.
