Review summary

I loved the ship but MSC runs it horribly. Wish there were less up charges and not feel like a budget cruise for the same price.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Went from the terminal to the ship in around 7 minutes. Extremely quick and easy process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
For breakfast, do not go to the dining room. They have less options but overall that same food as the buffet and takes around three times as long. We were asked seven different times if someone took our order already, which wasn’t a problem, but made it easier to tell that breakfast was not as organized as well as dinner was in the dining room. What was strange is that they use the same soft serve ice cream machine at the jungle pool bar and at the buffet between 4-5 pm. While the line is long, it is possible to get free ice cream between a one hour period. Lunch and dinner were almost the exact same in the buffet, and after around 10 pm the only available food is pizza.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Tube waterslide was extremely fun. I recommend doing it on a port day as lines on sea days can be up to 20 minutes long for one slide. Robotron is a MUST DO if you are sailing on Seascape. (Just please don’t do it after eating you’ll see why) The MSC sports arena was closed for our sailing due to a broken net but we saw someone walk in and take a couple shots anyways.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Shows are very different from other cruise lines especially in the Chora theater. While I enjoyed them all, I highly recommend attending the movie hits show and Dreamscape.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Teen club and young club share the same rooms, with 4 PS5s, one Xbox, and one Nintendo Switch. While teens don’t participate in as many activities as the kids do, the late night games are always fun if there are enough people to participate.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The employee that made our vacation the most memorable was Maria Almina Catalla at the Venchi chocolate bar. She always had a smile on her face and worked very hard to make everyone have the best experience possible. Please say hello if you see her!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very beautiful ship and extremely clean, just wish it wasn’t run by MSC.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Very average balcony cabin for modern standards. Was very clean and taken care of well.

Ship tip

Try the gelato at the Venchi chocolate bar!

Ports of call

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Lines for lunch can be long so I recommend waiting at the gates for the buffet to open. Very nice and clean island. Recommend climbing the lighthouse for great view of the island and the ship plus history of the island.

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
Recommend staying on the ship for Cozumel as the lines for food and entertainment are very small or nonexistent.

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5
Easy embarkation and average disembarkation.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

3 out of 5
If you do the blue hole excursion beware that it is VERY extreme and difficult.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Disembarkation was not nearly as easy as embarking the ship but took around the same time as it would take on any other ship/cruise line.
