Clarify: I got off work on the 5th and leaned about Milton from the news. My comments made it seem I leaned about the itinerary change, no I learned at the same time as everyone else: during check in at the port. The Capt. DID weight the option of going to the Bahamas and skipping the private island, but chose to keep going to D.R. when the winds/rain were too much.

When I found out on Oct 5th I CALLED BOTH my Travel Agent AND MSC for guidance. As I had insurance (did you?), my agent said I could cancel if I wanted to, but I chose to speak to MSC, who told me that it would be the Captain's decision, since the ship would be out of US waters when Milton made landfall. They also asked if I wanted to cancel or change. I said "No, I'll wait and see." The Captain made the right choice as Milton's headwinds would have been too strong by the time it got to East Atlantic. I had a great (and safe) day in Puerto Plata! 😆😁

What others have said. Itinerary changed for your safety. Next time maybe watch the weather if it’s hurricane season and rebook if needed
