The ship was bad, needs a major update. The staff was wonderful. The food was excellent. If it weren't for Ocean Cay, this would have been a huge waste of money!
Embarkation
4 out of 5
This was very fast and efficient, we were on the ship within 20 minutes of arriving via Uber at the port!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food on this ship was excellent. The buffet is very large but plenty of seating. The main dining room food was great, the service is weird because the tables are pretty tight and you share with strangers.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
The theater shows were good, there was lots of music in different lounges/atriums. The activity overall was not great, this is an old ship and basically have 3 decks of public are (2 lower and 1 lido).
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The theater is ugly but the shows were pretty good. We saw 3 of the 4 nights. The broadway style show was not good. The comedian was great and the last night they did a Circus show that was spectacular.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
The service on MSC is always great onboard.
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
The ship was pretty clean, not immaculate though. The layout and design are horrible. They really nee to drydock or scrap this one. The rooms are so old and cramped. The common areas do not really flow, either. It's a ship from 2009 but felt like it was from 1990.
Cabin / Stateroom
1 out of 5
The room was tiny. The bathroom was tiny. They had pullman beds coming from out of the wall that made you feel like they were right overtop of you. There's no chairs or seating in the room. We basically were stuck on our bed if we were in the cabin.
This was our 4th time to Ocean Cay, it's the best private island and incredible. They're currently doing renovations and I'm excited to see the finished product. Still though, with construction and limitations the island is worth the billing alone!
We usually hate Nassau. It's changed A LOT for the better. The port area is now seperate so the hassle of pushing past hard sellers is gone. There's lots to shop and look at in the port. Overall, Nassau got a major upgrade.
Funny, actually! "One star for onboard activities, followed by, theater shows great. Music in lounges etc wonderful... but ... old ship, only 2 floors of public areas."
Interesting, so I'm planning on finding out for myself . I'll let you know my take.
Several different reviews on two different cruises on the same ship a it's all a mixed bag of complaining. Some say ship was clean and beautiful and others say it was really bad, then some say food was great, and others it was the worst. Reviews are all subjected and basically useless info when a person reads them to decide if that's the right ship. When i cruise, I'm glad to be on a cruise and I will make the most of good and bad situations. In other words, just enjoy the cruise, since you already dropped the monies for it, so why boo hoo about the cruise after you're back about every little petty thing.
