The room attendant was very attentive and great to talk to. I did not enjoy the food at the buffet. I appreciated the availability of the buffet hours but the food did not have much flavor and seemed to be geared more towards American food.

Review summary

Overall, I was not as satisfied as I thought I would be with it being my first cruise. I will look for other higher class MSC cruises in the future but hesitant to rebook at the moment. I appreciate all the hard work from the employees. I wish the food tastes better and the top deck was nicer.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was very smooth and efficient.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The one time we attended the specialty restaurants, it seemed like the same food as the buffet.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I used the fitness center and I loved that the ship had a sauna.

Entertainment

3 out of 5

Children's Programs

I didn't take any children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The servers were all great and the hosts and bartenders. They were all attentive and hard working.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
I liked the room set up but was not a fan of the top deck on the ship. Room was clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The size wasn't bad. But if you are sharing a room with a woman, then it may be a little tight space.

Ship tip

Carry a fanny pack. Make sure to watch a sunrise. It is a different experience than the sunset.

As someone who has cruised on multiple cruise lines, each of them has their good and bad qualities. In my experience, the short 3/4 day cruises aren't as "enjoyable" because of the quick turnovers. The food never seems as good and the crowds are definitely different (a lot to do with pricing and people not having time for longer). After my 1st MSC in 2018, I said I'd never cruise MSC again. Since December 2022, I've been on 4 MSC and have another 3 booked. Also did 2 RCL this year and felt that they had changed a lot since pre-Covid. They all have their "waves" of good and bad. Don't be afraid to try another ship or cruise line. Thank you for your review!

Hopefully your next cruise will be better. Maybe try a different cruise line.

Sorry you did not have the best first cruise experience. Hope your next cruise will be more to your liking.
