Review summary

Due to Hurricane Matthew I was unable to travel to get the cruise. The whole eastern seaboard was hit very hard by the storm. Road was close and trains and plane was not traveling. But the saddess thing was that the Cruiseline or the agent even try to help. My wife and I was told to get there the best way we know how and those was the exact words. Sad, no refund or at least say Mr. and Mrs. Johnson we can see if we can get you on a later cruise in the future. There was nothing, customer service was very bad, the Cruise Line customer service was very bad. They do not care about the customer, it is all about how much we can rip off the customer.

Thanks for sharing your cruise.

I do not think it is fair to rate the cruise a 1star.  All cruise lines have the same policy.  This situation was your fault not the cruise lines.  The rates are cheaper during hurricane season.  It is foolish to book during this time if you are not going to prepare.  Purchase trip insurance and plan on arriving at least one day early.

Unfortunately, this was an expensive lesson for you. We always buy travel insurance, travel to port city a day or two early, and if we're flying we book a hotel for disembarkment night and fly home the next day. You can never control the weather, traffic jams, road closures, mechanical issues or your health, so it's always best to plan ahead for the inevitable what-ifs. I'm really very sorry you missed your cruise, and I hope you'll get another chance to go on one sometime! Maybe try booking not during hurricane season tho. 🚢🏝🍹

And buy trip insurance if you're traveling during peak hurricane season.

It's sad but they will refer you to the cruise contract everytime and if you take the time to read it you will realize that the cruise lines are not responsible for anything. If traveling a long distance to a port the best thing to do if you can is to plan to arrive a day or two ahead of cruise to allow for emergencies.
