The best cruise!

Sail Date: May 14, 2010

Room Type: Oceanview

This is my fourth cruise, but my first on Royal Caribbean. It is by far, the best! Monarch of the Seas is an older ship, but you would never know it. It was clean and updated. Lounge areas were especially attractive, as were the dining areas. The food was four star gourmet! The buffets were beautifully presented. The shows were family-friendly without any off-color language. All the staff were friendly and professional. Check-in and departure was extremely organized and smooth.

Pros: Ship's cleanliness, friendliness & organization

Cons: Nassau tour

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!

Ship Quality
All excellent!
Food and Dining
Food was out of this world! I even ate Escargots and liked them!
Cabin / Stateroom
Stateroom was a decent size with lots of storage space (drawers & closet). Bathroom was small, of course, but adequate. Water was hot and plentiful.
Service and Staff
Staff was very friendly, outgoing, helpful, and professional.
Entertainment
Nightly shows were good....and clean!
Cococay (Cruiseline's Private Island)
Beautiful island - clean, plenty of chairs. Lots to do - snorkeling, sailing, para-sailing, jet skies. Good shopping - fair prices. Good food. Good drinks. Snorkeling was awesome - protected area w/sunken plane & loads of fish.
Don't Miss: SNORKELING! even had prescription goggles
Nassau, Bahamas
Nassau tour wasn't too great. Van's air-condition didn't work so we were all hot and uncomfortable. The tour guide did not use a microphone so those in the back could not hear him. Plus there is not much to see on Nassau.
Don't Miss: None really.
