Review summary
We had a wonderful time! Fun is always better when shared with those you love. Six of us traveled down together from northern California to Long Beach together. We had plans to meet some dear friends in Ensenada, where they live. But those scoundrels pulled a prank on us, booked the cruise and hid out until they joined us at dinner. What a surprise. The ship was great. Emma was the best cabin steward we have had in 15 cruises. Our waiter, Rommel, and assistant Waiter, Robert were wonderful. Charming and funny, they made the meals a wonderful time each night. Monarch has been has been our friend for many years and is really maintained well. Our outings were fun! We rented golf carts at Catalina and went shopping in San Diego. Our favorite time, as usual, was La Bufadora! La Bufadora translates to "The Blowhole" and it is really spectacular. There are many booths to shop and barter at and we brought home some real bargains. This cruise was a very relaxing time spend with good friends and family and was worth the time and the price was exceptional.Ports of call
Pros: Being with friends and the marvelous service
Cons: The shopping lectures
Recommends Monarch of the Seas? Yes!
