Review summary

Our ship (The Monarch of the Seas) was extreamly clean. The Staff was top notch, and the food was over the top. Our off shore excursions were fun but just a heads up for those in wheelchairs, if the excursion is tendered, be wary of rough seas. Drink prices were a little steep but the onboard entertainment was excellent. Overall we are hooked on cruising and will be back many more times.

Ports of call

Ensenada, Mexico

3 out of 5
We went to La Bufadora to see the blow hole, what we didn't realize was that we would have to walk a mile through a local flea market getting harrassed by vendors. All in all it was interesting but not worth the money. When we returned to the bus we had a 20 minute wait where we were treated to rap music with every other word being of the four letter kind.

Catalina Island, California

We took the four hour inland coach trip and really enjoyed seeing the island from all directions. The town of Avalon was a shopping paradise.

San Diego, California

We stayed on the ship as we have both been to San Diego several times.

Pros: The ship was extra clean and the staff was top notch

Cons: We wished we had a little more time to decide upon our offshore excursions
