Great Cruise

Sail Date: November 12, 2007

Reviewed: 9 years ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Inside

We cruised with 29 people for my mother's 60th birthday. It was her first cruise and she and my dad enjoyed every minute of it. The entire staff was super friendly, the food was excellent, and the ship was very clean. Of the 29 people, 12 were children ages 7-15. All of the kids really enjoyed the kid programs and they were very safe and supervised for the younger groups. You do have to pay for the ice cream and $5.00 per hour per kid after 10pm in the kid's clubs for ages under 12. Overall a wonderful cruise!!!

Pros: Friendly staff, great food, clean ship

Cons: state rooms are very very small and you pay for ice cream and kid's clubs after 10pm

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!

Service and Staff
Food and Dining
Children's Programs
staff was great with the kids!!!!
Cabin / Stateroom
Very clean and comfortable, just really small!!
Ship Quality
Everything was really great except the state rooms are VERY small
Entertainment
Need more actiivities for adults
Catalina Island, California
Beautiful island. No real beach though. Avalon is very small, but the shops were fun.
Don't Miss: Luau Larry's Wickie drink and hats, you have to rent a golf cart this was the best!!!!
Ensenada, Mexico
I was here on a cruise a few years ago and it is totally different. It is much cleaned up and the "vendors" are much more under control. (didn't see any kids begging or selling) Bus/Shutte take you right into town, but you still have to play "Frogger" when crossing the streets!!!
San Diego, California
too much time wasted traveling to destinations. Better to stay on the ship here.
