Review summary

This was my first cruise and overall I enjoyed the experience. Plenty of good food, fun variety of activities, very friendly staff and enjoyable day trips a shore.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Excellent food in the Windjammer Cafe. We only dined once in the main hall but chose against it after the first night due to our table guests and the wait staff. The wait staff tried to hard to please us and it became very bothersome. The head waiter kept bothering us with a silly napkin mouse, we just wanted to be left alone to enjoy our meal.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Loved the bingo and live shows. To much noise and activity in the pool area. You have no choice but to be involved so it has hard to relax and enjoy the sun. It would be great if there was a private area for sun bathing.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the staff were friendly and knew their jobs well. Main dining rooms staff were annoying but provided good service.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship is showing signs of age and wear but it is clean and comfortable.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Our cabin was the size we expected but it was not ready at the promised time and it had not been configured correctly. It was eventually corrected but not until 8pm at night.

Ports of call

Ensenada, Mexico

1 out of 5
If you miss Ensenada don't worry. Very poor rough area of Mexico and not a true representation of Mexico. Stay on the ship while everyone else is on shore and you will have a much better time.

Catalina Island, California

5 out of 5
The visit to Catalina was wonderful. Beautiful weather and fun shops. Not a lot of shops but if you are looking for tourist type gifts you will love it.

San Diego, California

5 out of 5
San Diego was fun and an easy day on shore. Go to shore early and get back to the ship early to enjoy a quiet afternoon on board.
Don't Miss: Sea Port Village

Pros: Good variety of activities

Cons: Cabin was not ready and configured incorrectly
