This was our first Royal Caribbean (RC) Cruise. Overall we had a great time. We often were told (mostly by RC cruisers) that RC is superior in every category...Better food...Better entertainment...Better amenities. An overall better cruise experience.... we found that to be false. A few occasions we experienced bad customer service at the bar and our housekeeper told us—when asked to put our beds together: “I will get to your request when I get to it.” RC does have more food options in terms of the buffet. The performers seemed unprepared. The two shows we watched; someone either fell, or missed a step, or flubbed their lines. Seemed more like a stage show then a broadway show. RC’s alcohol package is phenomenal and the bar service was fast. The internet package is like your internet in the states. RC has Carnival beat with the alcohol and internet packages. In conclusion, I wasn’t swayed to switch brands. l believe Carnival offers an overall better cruise experience.
