Review summary

Despite its being a ship of many, many passengers, Mariner of the Seas proved easy to get around in. Embarking and disembarking went smoothly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Most very good food. An earlier seating in a din ing room--say, 5:30--would help. But a $4 charge, + tip, for a small glass of freshly squeezed OJ was excessive.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Ice show was outstanding!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff showed friendliness and helpfulness. Cabin staff went out of its way to make repair on a torn piece of luggage.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Design with shopping along a promenade was a great notion. All areas of the ship were kept spotless. The Promenade snack shop was appreciated.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin showed clever design strengths--balcony and bathroom, especially. It was comfortable and wonderfully clean--and kept that way, thanks to superior staff attention.

Pros: ports of call ideal and excursions quite good

Cons: insistence of cruise line concerning pre-paid and yet more gratuities
