Review summary

This was a cruise that we had done before but we still really enjoyed it. The polish was taken off it by the long wait for the airport transfer.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Excellent embarkation. However not quite sure why the flight was timed so we got to the ship at 7:30 pm?

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Only did the Tapas speciality restaurant. Was as good as usual. Enjoyed the MDR for both breakfast and evening meals. The buffet was reasonable too.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Did some quizzes and we had done one before, so won the certificate for that one!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The stage shows were great although a couple were repeats, so gave them a miss.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Always good service with Marella, and they are trying to reduce queues around bars and service areas by having more waiters.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship always being cleaned, and it looked like new carpets had just been fitted

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was a junior suite and was a nice size with a good balcony. Storage was great for a week. Bed was very hard so got woken up with a numb arm a couple of times! In all ports of call the port side(ours) was facing west so never any sun in the morning. Never had that before.

Ports of call

Arrecife, Lanzarote, Canary Islands

Got off, but didn't do an excursion. Walked through the old port and went shopping in the mall, then walked a scenic route back to the ship. Found a bar to have a nice drink in.

Puerto Del Rosario, Fuerteventura

3 out of 5
Just went to the beach for a swim. Clothes got soaked as three waves joined together and shot up the beach!

Santa Cruz De Tenerife, Canary Islands

Did an excursion here. It turned out to be just a Teide sightseeing one as high winds caused the cable car ride to be cancelled, sob. An amazing place though.

Agadir, Morocco

3 out of 5
We were advised to go on an excursion here, as there could be problems with thieves. We went to the Fort on the hill, the biggest mosque in Agadir, and the beach. Were a little rushed as the guide and driver seemed to want to get back early. Still a very interesting excursion to a place we had never been to before

San Sebastian, La Gomera

3 out of 5
This was a lovely walk off port. An excellent beach where my wife had a swim. We walked past the old Fort into the town and had a nice pizza and a drink. We than finished with a stroll back through the town to the port.

Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands

3 out of 5
Just got on and off here, so just saw things in passing

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Disembarking was easy as we had a 4 in the afternoon time! As usual the flight let the whole Tui experience down with delays making sure we got home at 3 in the morning. The whole flight timing thing needs to be looked at closely
