After being on this cruise, I realized I would never sail on a ship this big. I got sick on the last 2 days of cruise and spent them in my cabin. i guess that's expected when you are confined on a ship with 6k guests. Also, the elevator situation was the worst. waited forever to get one. at least 8-10 ppl per elevator, no air. I tried to hold my breath, but still got sick. I feel like the bar service is horrible. this was the first time I purchased the cheers package and i feel it was a total waste bc you had to wait for a bartender to acknowledge you. theme of ship-"hurry up and wait!"

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
service was slow. bar was 3 persons deep. took forever to get your drinks. no waiters around the take your order. lines for restaurants and shows are ridiculous.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
common areas are too small to handle the amount of guests on ship. not into being around herds of ppl.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
the dance crew was weird. too new age.... almost awkward. the comedy shows and game shows were funny. but the lines to get in were ridiculous. you had to arrive 30 minutes before a 40 min show.
Children's Programs
don't have kids
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
they were nice and some were really attentive. but there were not enough workers to handle guests.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
no, the tables were barely bused. even in MDR. the elevators had no circulation or ac. one big giant cest pool.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The air in the cabins barely worked. i think it was clean, but don't take sheets off and look at the mattress cover, yellow stains. that just turns me off. god only knows how often those are washed. no fan in bathroom. the steward was very nice and attentive.
Ship tip
don't build another ship this big if your common areas and restaurants can't accommodate guests.
clear blue water and port. near impossible to go in water on beach though because of rocks. i didn't select this cruise for the ports. if I did, I wouldn't have taken it.
I don't knock anyone's experiences but I do want to offer advice. I did MG last Christmas, and doing Jubilee in a few days. You have to find a bar or 2 and get to know the bartenders. I also tip a little extra in cash at the beginning of the cruise. That way , that bartender sees me coming. LOL I am not a big drinker or get the packages.
Also on Grand Turk , i pay for the excursion tour . Includes tour of island shopping and a stop at a local restaurant. Afterwards beach. The beach was nice and relaxing. My college aged son stayed in the water. You kinda gotta research online before hand but be open minded.
I’m sorry you didn’t have a good experience. We were on this before, but didn’t feel over crowded. Granted, I don’t typically go in Lido deck for that reason. I do admit the layout and seating for a lot of shows is lacking- especially for the amount of people.
Too bad your cruise wasn't up to par. overall, I've taken well over 20 cruises and I'd never cruise Carnival again. It's not the size of the ship but the cruise line that matters. If you can afford it, book another cruise on celebrity Edge class. I can almost guarantee it will be a night and day experience for you. Happy cruising! 🛳️
