Review summary

This cruise was great. I will be happy to cruise on the Mardi Gras again in the future.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation went smoothly. We were on the ship a little later than our check in time of 10-10:30 but it was not a problem we were still on this ship by 11:15am.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room was good. Service was on point every night except for the first night which was as expected slow. Most of the food was good. I did have a couple of things I didn’t really like but with so many other choices it was not a problem. We tried Cucina Del Capitano for the first time and it was very good. We really liked that they offered 1/2 portions at lunch time.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
So many activities you could not possibly do them all. People in our group did a lot of trivia’s, bean bag tosses, bolt, water slides, shows, and deck parties. It’s was definitely a fun filled week.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows on this ship were excellent. My husband and I enjoyed the broadway show the best. We did not enjoy the magician as much as others we have seen in the past. Voodoo Moon was very unusual. Just June was the Best comedian of the entire cruise. The other 3 were not bad we just enjoyed June more.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service and staff were excellent. The cruise director TJ is without a doubt one of Carnivals Best. Our cabin steward Shidiq was wonderful and very attentive. Our main dining room wait staff Neimark, Anique, and Iwayan did a great job.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful decor. Love the song lyrics on the walls of the staircases.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Nice cabin very quiet at night. Lots of closet space. Good size balcony.

Ship tip

Bring comfortable shoes. Lots of walking. Be patient elevators are small and fill fast. Take the stairs if you can.

Ports of call

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
This was my favorite port this trip. The walk from the ship to entry onto the island was not long at all. This place is beautiful. So many wonderful stands and stores with handcrafted one of a kind items. We did not go to the beach this time but we will if we visit again. We did not do an excursion.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
Another long walk from the ship to entry to the island. We walked to the Caviarius the bird aviary. Not expensive and they had a lot of beautiful birds. However, you must walk several rope bridges to get around. This was definitely scary. You do get a great view of the island and the dolphins from several spots in the aviary. Definitely worth doing if you like birds and are not afraid of the rope bridges.

Cozumel, Mexico

Very crowded especially because we were there with the icon of the seas. Long walk from the pier to the island. The stores were very busy it was hard to move around and look at things. Beautiful handcrafted items at many stores. We did not do any excursions.

Port Canaveral, Florida

Nice port. Easy to navigate

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
This was our first time with digital disembarking. It was fast and smooth. We were off the ship by 6:50am. It took longer to get an elevator to the 3rd floor of the garage than anything else.
