Review summary

overall, the cruise was great and very minimal criticism. this was my first carnival cruise in over 20 years, and I was a little apprehensive since carnival has a reputation of being the "Walmart of cruise lines". however, because this cruise/ship is more expensive than most, a lot of the riff raff was not there and I was overall pleasantly surprised.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
the only negative i have about this cruise is the lack of service. dinner in the flamingo we would go 30-45 minutes without seeing any of our waiters. I don't mind a wait for food since they are not preparing it. but a lack of beverage refills (even just water), bread, butter, etc. wasn't there. we constantly had to hunt them down and request things. also, servers for bar service for the pools was nonexistent. I tipped a waiter $20 cash one day around noon and legit even saw him again.

all great except the air conditioning wasn't that great. room did not stay cool and was constantly humid.

Ports of call

buggy excursion was amazing

Grand Turk Island

i have been to grand turk quite a few times. there were two large ships there that day; that port is not equipped to handle that many people. a ship the size of the mardi gras should not be in port the day of another ship.

A cruise is what you make it, be it cheap or expensive, they all go to the same ports and have nothing anymore than the other. Carnival just gives you the same as other ships at a lower price.

The service we got from Oscar at the Flamingo was excellent. He extremely pleasant and on top of it.

Carnivals new ships are a good improvement, but it's still Carnival. Glad you had a good experience overall.
