Food and Dining

I had better food at Golden Corral. The buffet had very little variety of food for a ship with 6000 plus people as well as different hours when it was barely open and not to mention that they didn't use the entire buffet. the buffet was dissapointing.
the specialty restaurants were terrible - 555 steak house the service was lackluster as the staff looked like they were on their first cruise and very no personable. We felt rushed to get in and out really fast and the atmosphere in there was cold and not warm and romantic at all. the steak was good and I didn't mind the upcharge but the staff made the experience very awkward.
the italian specialty was just the same - the staff very cold and uninteresting and the food was cold and bland. the staff were hanging around their station and talking and joking as we were trying to eat.
chibang was not very fun at all and very bland and again service was terrible
we could never eat in the main dining room because of the 40 to 70 minute wait each night but we tried the breakfast after a 30 minute wait only to be told that we can share a table because there were no little tables available.... however, when walking to our table we noticed 3/4 of the dining room empty and lots of little tables open and even next to our table it was open. then the waiter came to get the drink order, got 4 people out of the 8 and disappeared, then brought coffee for one person, ran out of coffee then disappeared again. we noticed the waiters again huddled around their station looking like they were lost puppies. finally he came took our order and waited a long time for the food which came cold.
the only good place we found was the sushi place.. they were fast courteous and efficient
the street eats were disappointing as they would not have a good variety and the only one that stayed open all the time was the high dollar seafood one - imagine that .. the high dollar paid one stayed open the longest
guys burgers was ok
bbq buffet was ok as well but again staff not very personable
Onboard Activities

we could never get to any because of the wind - and the pools were crowded
Entertainment

I have to say, that they need to make some changes but I feel it's too late. they have everything so tightly arranged that if you are in the comedy show, they have music playing right outside the door in the next venue. when we were at the brass magnolia listening to jazz across the hall they had a guy playing the guitar which basically drowned each other out
the main stage being in the middle of the ship and trying to watch a show while kids and adults walking behind you talking and yelling was unique and not very pleasing
Children's Programs

Service and Staff

Our Room Steward was fantastic!! very personable and very courteous, not to mention very knowledgeable. the Bartenders at Brass Magnolia were top notch and very efficient
everyone else was terrible. no fun waiters and even the management seemed lackluster. i didn't see any management that was on top of anything like you see on other ships
also this ship had something weird.. they allow the staff to get in line with the guests and basically cut in front of you to get condiments, etc.. in fact they received better service than the guests.
the lady on the room service phone was cold and very unfriendly
in fact 99% of the staff looked miserable and very not well managed
Ship Quality

the design is very confusing and not well laid out. the ship was clean and well maintained but then again.. its a new ship
Cabin / Stateroom

The balcony was our only escape on this ship as it offered better access to the outside than anywhere on the ship. the room was clean and the size was perfect for us
Ship tip
If you love Walmart then go on this cruise because they make you feel like you are at walmart
I guess I missed the nickel and dime part since most of the specialty dining is included on this ship. Your review is completely opposite of my experience during spring break, which was equally as crowded.
Well, with Karen's, they do expect more and believe the staff is their personal wait staff. I guess since you compared it to Walmart, you shop there. Goodbye, and I hope to never see you on a cruise. I hope you didn't complain to your friends and family while cruising, because I'm looking for their reviews about the complaining friend or relative who made their cruise horrible.
Is there such a thing where any cruise lines do not nickle and dime passengers? If there are any cruise lines do not, then they are sure to be really expensive.
When you’re cruising at Christmas, you have to expect crowds and poor weather. You like the Carnival pricing but unfairly call them Wal-Mart when we all shop there. If you did some research you could have found a cruise line that better suited your expectations but it would cost more, I suspect you already know that.
