Review summary

Overall a great experience, I'd love to go on the Mari Gras out of Port Canaveral again.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We were a bit late for our scheduled arrival time, so we were able to walk right in. The line to get our passport checked didn't feel that long, and document check and security scans were quick. The waiting area was full but not uncomfortable, and once our boarding group was called, we were quickly on the ship. This was my first time in this port and I liked the experience. I'll definitely cruise from here again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Even though there were a lot of people on the ship, we never had long waits and the places we ate never felt crowded. We ate at nearly every option at least once and were generally happy with the food and the service was always stellar.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We don't tend to do too many activities. I was really looking forward to trying out Bolt, but it was broken down the entire cruise. That was very disappointing to me since it was one of the reasons we chose this ship. Hopefully a future cruise in this class will allow us to try it out.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We saw a comedian, and went to a deck party or two. Always a great time even if all we do is go for the people watching.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward was friendly and always greeted us and wished us a great day. The staff at the bars and dining establishments were great even when they were busy.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very clean and seemed to be well maintained (well, except for Bolt being down the whole cruise.) I was very impressed with how the ship handled the people on board. I know the ship had a lot of passengers, but we really didn't ever feel crowded. Even when we were dining at what I'd expect to be busy times, the ship never felt crowded. Only rarely did elevators feel busy and even at those times it didn't feel as busy as elevators on other cruises I've been on.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was a very nice cabin. There was adequate room for relaxing in the cabin or on the balcony. When we arrived, the cabin was very warm but after running the a/c for a while, the cabin was nice and cool for the whole cruise. The cabin was very clean and well maintained, the steward did a great job of cabin upkeep.

Ship tip

Be sure to try a lot of different dining options. There are so many to choose from, don't just stick to one thing.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
We carried our luggage off. This was the only time I saw lines for the elevators, and being on the 17th floor, we were having a hard time getting an elevator that wasn't nearly full. I ended up just carrying our bags down the stairs (because I'm inpatient that way) and that was a workout. The facial recognition scanners were having issues as we disembarked, so the lines to get through that were a bit long.
