Review summary

Overall this was a great cruise experience. The issues I encountered were fairly minor and I certainly did not allow them to ruin this cruise. After all I am on a cruise to have fun and enjoy, and that I certainly did! This was My first experience on a LARGE cruise ship and I am not used to the crowds we encountered at some of the shows.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Huge crowd checking in but lines moved fairly quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining was mostly good, the Steakhouse specialty restaurant was fabulous! Had anytime dining and that worked very well for us, only had a long wait (40 min) on one evening.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pools were very nice but too many people trying to enjoy them at the same time on sea days. Fitness center was great, water slides fun and very fast, Bolt roller coaster was OOS most of the cruise days so did not get to experience that unfortunately. Water park and putt putt great time for all. Thermal suite was the best if you are into the sauna and steam, definitely worth the extra cost.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Most of the entertainment, musicians, comedians and stage shows were good, not everything appealed to us, some were great and some were just ok.

Children's Programs

No children with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service was great everywhere on the ship and everyone we encountered.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Design is beautiful, layout good except there are not enough public restrooms especially near the main dining restaurant. Most of the restrooms are too small for a large ship making you have to wait frequently. The cleanliness of the ship was mostly very good except in some of the restrooms there should have been an attendant visit more frequently.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Clean and comfortable, was surprised at how much storage space is in the closets. Small bathroom but good design.

Ship tip

If you want to attend most shows you better plan on getting there about 30 minutes early for a good seat or any seat in some instances. The ship holds 6500 people and the venues are mostly small, even the main theater filled up on many shows.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Easy in, easy out.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
New port area is very nice.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

4 out of 5
Port area nice with adequate shopping. Pool area nice but crowded.

Grand Turk Island

4 out of 5
Good shopping, nice beach, cool pool area. Lots and lots of people. Less crowded beach to the right side as you enter.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
If you have a passport it is VERY quick. Birth certificate line was a mile long. If you are using a birth certificate you better be one of the first off the ship!
