Disembarkation

1 out of 5
We checked our luggage the night before and was expecting an early departure but no they only had one exit ramp off the ship and that slowed everything down because of this we got off the ship late and missed the flight home and are now sitting at the airport waiting on a flight to Indianapolis and get a rental car to drive home

tom1958 My group was on that cruise as well. We were extremely frustrated at times with getting on and off. Where Carnival completely FAILED is the LACK of communication. There PA system you can't hear 3/4 of the time. If something is broke and they KNOW it communicate it surely they KNEW it would bottleneck the process, badly. We stood IN LINE for 2.5 extra hours because we arrived on time for our boarding time. We watched people throw up, pass out from heat exhaustion, etc etc etc. And then we watched people with boarding windows after us get on before us because they didn't enforce or look at there papers. It weird everyone is disrespectful before getting on ship but once on board there your best friend. Humanity showed its true colors that day. And don't get me started about GRAND TURK. Carnival asking if you've been vacinnated then not asking for proof then labeling you as vaxxed or unvaccinated. Then I hear stories your of getting off ship. And GRAND TURK not checking themselvesfor proof. Goes to show I could of enjoyed the island unabated. Carnival should tell GRAND TURK TO GO FLY A KITE TILL THEY KET ALL PEOPLE OFF REGARDLESS OF STATUS. Labeling unvacinnated people as walking time bombs when it's the vacinnated dropping like flies for miocarditus and colors and strokes and heart attacks. Etc etc. Back the the FOOD we loved it. Oh my favorite was the Lemon Pie at the Bistro.we ate at steakhouse TWICE worth the premium We didn't even make it to ChiBank or the Ristourante de Cap. Carnival WHO has huge pull at The Port Should of brought in experts at own expense at got that thing fixed. Or used there collective minds and come up with solution for emb and disembarkation.. huge. Sore spot for us..HUGE. To note we stayed at Spa Stateroom and had access to spa elevator huge workaround to the elevator bottlenecks which seemed to never leave thruout cruise. Sorry about typing yall. Misspell. And one last thing to mardi gras Fix your DAMN Stabilizers The ship of that size should of never Rocked that badly.

Sad for you but our cruise on her in October 2021 was phenomenal, meals were different depending on where we ate.

I love cruising but just did not like the lay of the Madi Gras. Shops on 3 different floors and the big show in the atrium with no seating. Don't get me wrong, it was beautiful to watch the ocean from and the show. What little I could see of it was good. A year later and I still say I don't think I would take it again. Oh, and the sliding doors were a pain. After a pandemic, you would think there would be sensors, so you didn't have to push a button.

I don't understand why people always want to blame everyone else for their failure to plan. Now don't get me wrong, I was on the Mardi Gras and it was a challenge for a disabled veteran like me. But after a day or so we moved around with no problem, found out that the Aft elevators was not used as much as the others, so we used them every day for 7 days. I flew and week didn't book a return flight until 2, but we got off the ship around 10. Enjoy the Mardi Gras and will be back on her in July, but will be on the Vista in 5 days. Can't wait, it's been a long time between the Mardi Gras and now.

If you listened we had checked luggage and could not go down till it was opened on the paper it said everyone was to be off ship by 9:30 guess what that didn’t happen I will just go back to the best cruise line in the business which is Royal Caribbean they kick Carnivals ass

I was on the same cruise. The embarkation and debarkation were definitely the worst I have experienced but that is because one of the gangways broke. Not Carnival’s fault. I don’t think this is the norm. There were plenty of free food options. You could have tried Chibang, Cucina Capitano, Shaq’s Big Chicken. You didn’t have to stick with the dining room, Lido or Guy’s Burger joint. I thought the ship was awesome. It is huge so of course it is going to take some effort to get from one end to the other. There are maps all over the ship that show you how to get from end to end. Also I am pretty sure I heard the cruise director announce all passengers with early flights were to disembark way before the rest of us so not sure how you missed your flight. Again not Carnival’s fault.

For you to had missed your flight home; I’m guessing you didn’t get the memo to not book a flight before noon.

Pretty sure you can get from the front to back on almost every deck

Probably time to move on to a different type of vacation. Cruising is not what it used to be.

Cruising is not for everyone !

willwork4cruz    1 year ago

You lost me at "the food was the same thing every night". We have actually cruised before and know that is never true. You may not like the food but they always have different dishes every night.

I’ve been cruising for 13 years and this was the worst time I’ve had on any of them

Cruising isn’t for everyone and sounds like it’s probably not for you. There are lots of other vacation options.

Really hate you didn’t like the Mardi Gras. We have been on it 6 times and loved ever time. We found out to just carry luggage with as we leave

Mmjay    1 year ago

I hope if and when you cruise again, it will be a lot better.

kdlady    1 year ago

Sounds like some of it was just poor planning on your part
