We enjoyed our cruise. It's been four years since our last Carnival cruise.
I did notice that the perks of having a suite cabin were not communicated. We learned about all the perks from YouTube and Google.
We will cruise Carnival again in the future.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
We had priority boarding. It is not communicated clearly that diamond, platinum and suite guest have their own lounge area at Port Canaveral. We were corralled with everyone one else. We eventually found our area and were some of the first ones on the ship.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
I think Carnival has the best, most consistent MDR food(dinner). The amount of included venues were impressive. ChiBang was my favorite(2 times for lunch, 1 dinner). Guy's Burgers never disappoint. Big Chicken and Cucina was just ok to me. Pig and Anchor for lunch buffet was ok the first day. Street Eats french fry station was great. My only complaint is that there isn't enough variety for late night. Only pizza or extra cost room service after a late night.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
There seemed to be less activities to choose from.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The shows were good enough. The violin trio were awesome.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
I am always impressed with the MDR staff and how they remember everyone's name.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship is nice and clean. The layout is good. Some of the venues seem too small for the amount of people this ship holds.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We had the aft corner balcony excel cabin. My favorite thing inside the cabin was the shower. It was huge. (big enough for 2😉)
The whirlpool tub on the balcony was another favorite.
Ship tip
Most of the shows are at Central Stage. Get there early to get a seat. In front of the stage on deck 6 is the best view.
Grand Turk is a favorite. The water is so clear and blue. We have never done an excursion here. The beach at the Port is all you need. I recommend walking down the beach to Jack's Shack for the best jerk chicken around.
I am usually not a fan of Nassau. This time wasn't bad. We just walked around the town close to the port. They are revamping the port area. It seemed less dirty and less sketchy this time.
Disembarkation was a mess. There was a medical emergency the day before that put us off schedule. Arriving late into Port meant more people carrying off their luggage to make their flights. Plus, one of the gangways had a malfunction. One gangway and way more people carrying off their luggage was a bit chaotic. There was some-what of an organized plan, but somewhere along the way communcation got skewed. Zone guest and self assist had no idea who was suppose to get off and when.
@6025ph, We enjoyed MSC. Loved the ship, very modern. The MSC private island was one of our favorites. My big complaint is the food. The food was very bland. Though, for the right price, we would cruise MSC again.
