Review summary

I traveled Carnival before covid and I felt the spirit of Carnival was missing on this trip. Not enough fun things to do on board during “Fun Days At Sea”.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation was relatively smooth although my luggage did not reach my stateroom until 6pm. Needless to say that was stressful.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food and service in the Il Capitano Restaurant was excellent. One particular member of the wait staff was attentive, knowledgeable and great fun. His name is Anthony and he deserves to be acknowledged. The food portions in the other specialty restaurants was skimpy and the service was rushed.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Anthony in the Il Capitano Resturant was excellent. He’s knowledgeable, helpful and made our dining experience a lot of fun. Angel our room steward was available and attentive.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
As well as can be expected considering the number of people and the size of the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I thought the cabin could have been more spacious. I was traveling with my sister. There was barely any space between the twin beds, and barely any space between the second twin bed and the sliding glass door leading to the balcony.

Ship tip

It’s a big ship. It learn where you are (left , right, front, back).

Appreciate your feedback. I’ve heard that the cabins are smaller but the shower is better. Sorry you were disappointed.

Was on the same ship and time as you. We loved it and found plenty to do. Did you use the app? There were always things to do

Agree cruising is not the same

Only sailed on Carnival 1 time before and it was in the 1980’s, so we have nothing to compare, however we have sailed on 2 other lines, and we also noticed things were not the same. Let’s give them all a chance to get back

Skimpy portions is the new wave to reduce waste AND to save money, but on most ships (Carnival only allows two) you can get multiple entrées. Entertainment has been sparse on many of the ships I have been on since Covid.
