As a whole it was a very good cruise/vacation. The problem is with that many restaurants it takes you until the cruise is basically over until you find the better places to eat. Staff was great and very friendly. Not sure if I would do the Mardi Gras ship again, or at least wait until they get all the bugs/kinks worked out or Covid/Staffing issues are gone. The ship is Amazing thou! Best places on the ship: Fortune Teller Bar, Alchemy Bar, Java Blue Coffee Shop (the desserts are great!), Piano Bar (Eden), Blue Iguana, Street Eats, 555 Steak House, Bonzai Sushi, Guy's Burgers. Muhalli our Room Stewart.
Embarkation

Delayed for 3+ hrs waiting out in the Hot Sun. Staff was not very friendly while the delay happened.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Main Dinning room was Terrible. Specialty Restaurants where good but either had to wait a long time or pay a premium price. Drinks where Great and Bartenders fabulous. Probably the worst food quality in all the cruises we have done. VERY Limited Gluten Free options for one of us in the party.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Lots of things to do on the ship. The Fun Squad and The Flying Scotsman (Cruise Director) where amazing. Way more than you could do in a week.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Fun Squad was Great. Lots of Great Shows and Entertainment Options all day long.
Service and Staff

Our Room Attendant was AMAZING! Most specialty dinning staff, bars, and stores the staff was Great. The Main dinning room each time we ate there was rude and very forgetful.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Very well maintained and clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Room Attendant was great and had our whole parties names memorized by the end of the first day!
Ship tip
Only eat at Specialty Dinning areas and budget that into your cruise. Buffet was OK. Don't expect much in Allergy Options.
Did the Zip & Dip and it was Amazing. All the Excursion Staff was great also. Make sure to bring really good walking/water shoes, but it's not too strenuous for the average person. Highly Recommend!
The Port is nice, I would recommend doing an excursion, even if it's to a close beach with drinks and limited food. Margaritaville is CRAZY high to even drink, we got 3 larger daiquiri type drinks and it was $75. Probably not enough room for the quantity of people unloaded in a short amount of time.
Iโm glad you enjoyed your cruise on the Carnival Mardi Gras. We havenโt cruised on any of the mega ships yet. Thank you for taking the time to share your review.
