Review summary

The cruise ship was fantastic. I had an amazing time and enjoyed everything, everyone and all the islands. I do wish or have a concern about each port island. I do not like the fact that in order for us to go to a beach or enjoy the beach we had to purchase a spot as a separate thing like an excursion . We already paid so much for the trip I think if we not paying extra for excursions the beach portion should be a given. I was disappointed I didn’t get into any of the beaches and the ocean. The pool in Dominican Republic was okay but that’s not what I wanted. So that’s my only downfall. Beaches should not be excluded as an extra .

The food wasn’t what I expected. It was the same food over and over again. The only great spots was Guys Burger, Big Chicken and the Taco spot on the lido deck. Everything else was mediocre

Ramsey1986 have you been to the small beach to left of port in Amber Cove. Got info from port info site and they gave me walking directions to it. What did you think of it? Is it worth my walk?

I’m glad you enjoyed your cruise on the Mardi Gras. We have always enjoyed the free beach area right by the ship in Grand Turk. There is a small free beach to the left of the port area in Amber Cove. The Mardi Gras currently does not go to Half Moon Cay, maybe because of the 6000+ cruisers onboard, but that is our absolute favorite place and a perfect day at the beach. We base many of our cruises on visiting Half Moon Cay. You tender to the island and there is only one ship at a time there so that limits the crowd and allows a great private island feel further down the beach and away from the crowds. The menu in the MDR is different every night with the exception of some items available every night.
