Review summary

For our first cruise this was perfect and we will be going back on the Mardi Gras! Everyone was so kind and the boat was so clean. Not to mention there is SO much to do each day!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
I thought the embarkation was very well organized and ran very smooth. The only thing I would change is having more seating available after making it through security while waiting to board the ship. After a few groups got called there was space, I think I boarded at the busiest time, 11.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We loved Chabang, our favorite restaurant by far, if you go get the loaded nachos! We also really liked the formal dining nights because the wait staff was always very kind. All areas were very clean and the servers were kind. We loved having anytime dining so we could get added to a waitlist from anywhere on board and then have 10 minutes to get to the restaurant once our table was ready.

Onboard Activities

Our favorite was the BOLT coaster. My grandma chose to ride as well and glasses aren't permitted on the ride but she cannot see without them. The nice worker running the ride had a glasses strap on his sunglasses and allowed her to borrow it so she could still ride. We also enjoyed playing mini golf at night when it wasn't so hot. The comedians where also great! The pool in the back of the ship next to the chicken place is where we hung out each day. It was so relaxing and the wait staff were so attentive. The deck was kept very clean and glasses were picked up right after you finished a drink.

Entertainment

We loved the magic show! We also enjoyed all of the comedy shows by Jorge Solano! He was so funny in both his PG shows and 18+ shows.

Children's Programs

No kids traveled with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had a wonderful room steward, I can't remember his name but we stayed on deck 4 and he was constantly checking in on us! We also really enjoyed Christopher on the lido deck and Luna from the main dining hall. No staff were bad these are just a few that went above and beyond! All waiters were timely and seemed to remember our names and orders! We were very impressed at how fast service was and how attentive Luna was when my grandma didn't like her food she quickly got her something else.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I loved the layout of the ship and everything was always kept so clean! The only downfall is all the elevators being connected. If you press the up button to quickly after another elevator just boarded going up their door will open. This makes waiting for the elevator long during busy times. I'm not sure of an easy solution other than taking the stairs of you just need to travel a few floors.

Cabin / Stateroom

We loved how big the shower was! There is so much storage, we had 4 people in our room with tons of luggage and everything could be easily stored. We also loved the size of our balcony, it was a great place to hang out as the ship left port.

Ship tip

Make sure you try Chabang! Best restaurant on board!

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

This is where we boarded the ship. It was so nice and quick to get on board.

Nassau, Bahamas

We loved how easy it was to meet up with excursion guides. We went on a tour of the city and our bus driver was awesome. We gave us time to visit many things like local souvenirs, rum factory, rum cake shop, the Atlantis hotel and more! The bus we rode was clean and well kept and the bus driver made sure we got to spend time in places we wanted to see.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

This was our favorite stop on our cruise!! We did the Damijua waterfalls and monkey land. The people from the second we got off the boat were kind! Men on bikes were offering free rides from the boat to the island. Once we got to our excursion we took a bus ride with the BEST tour guide, Chocolate! He told us so much information about the Dominican and even taught us a few Spanish phrases since many of the workers at the waterfall slides spoke little English. The hike to the waterslides was KILLER. It was about 40 minutes but a kind man named Giavanni carried my mom and grandmas life jackets and helmets the whole time! Then we went to monkey land which was also awesome! We can't wait to go back!

Grand Turk Island

We had scheduled a day at the beach, and the worst part was we had to be in the auditorium at 6:45 just to be escorted outside! It was way to early and kind of annoying because then we got off the ship and our tour didn't leave until 7:30. The drive to the beach was bare and gross, lots of trash. Our bus driver drove very fast and was constantly honking and passing cars, and there was an alarm going off in the bus the whole drive. Once to the beach it was pretty and we were able to snorkel until time to head back to the ship. I wish the day didn't have to start so early and I wish we didn't have to be back on the ship so early.
