Review summary

An awesome experience on Mardi Gras. It was my first cruise on this new ship, she’s much bigger than previous Carnival new builds, lots of eating venues and bars, totally different Atrium, new areas like The Patio, The Heroes Tribute Lounge, a Smoking and Non smoking sections of the Casino. Since I had been to all port on this itinerary many times, I did not book a shore excursion, the ship was my destination, so I explored it in port. I loved the ship and most of it’s offerings.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Honestly, Nassau offers little to nothing for those who’ve been there often as I have. They’re redeveloping the port but if they have nothing outside of that to offer in addition to what is and has been in years past, I don’t see anything changing. Blue Lagoon Pearl Island and Balmoral Island are better places to go but you can get tired of those too. Building a WaterPark with a Lazy River, Wave Pool, Waterslides, Pool with Swimup Bar, Kids Splash Pad, pressure cleaning the stairs etc at the Queen’s Staircase and improving the infrastructure is needed.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

This is a nice port of call as the pool etc at the Cruise Center with the Grill and Bar is a nice experience. Other shore excursion options are good too.

Grand Turk Island

Been to this port umpteen times, took a sea bath at the beach by the Cruise Center, then back onboard the ship.

Early Walk off was a breeze. Lines in the Terminal weren’t bad as Facial Recognition Technology was employed.
