Review summary

Loved it! Different than all the other carnival ships we’ve been on. I would say it feels more “refined’, or “mature” than the others, even including all the kids and high school/college students aboard. Didn’t spend lots of time on lido or outdoor decks (some iffy weather), but the focus seemed to be more on inside activities.the new food venues are top notch, and extra entertainment areas gave a lot of options and spread out the crowds. The two negative comments I have are the breakfast hours seemed short(late start, some open two hours only), and the shopping choices were lacking. The shops were smaller than other ships, and there just wasn’t much merchandise (80%watches/jewelry/perfume) I’m very surprised that fora new ship’s inaugural season, plus the 50th birthday celebration, that there weren’t any logo products or clothing items to commemorate that.

Embarkation

Fast and easy...under 15 minutes from the time we handed over our luggage, through health screening and preboarding until we set foot on the ship......

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Only visited main dining room once because there were so many new options...food was good but service was slow....buffet breakfasts were nice...tried every specialty restaurant except the sushi and teppanyaki restaurants....some great new places! My two new favorites were the java blue cafe with expanded choices, some no charge, and the panini restaurant.yum!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Havana area pool was cozy but we missed the hot tub usually in that area....Serenity area was nice also. Tried a few trivia games, larger crowds than usual but still fun

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Awesome stage performers. Didn’t get to see all the musicians but lots of talent ..Eden at the piano bar is wonderful. And the comics...6 of them...were top notch

Children's Programs

No kids😜

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
As usual on Carrnival, all staff were super friendly and helpful

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Spotless

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Everything was great, newly designed, except the size. It was too narrow. Had to walk sideways to get into bed, but other than that, no problem

Ship tip

Use info on (easier to navigate than Carnival’s own website) to learn what’s on board and see deck layouts because this ship is set up differently than all the others

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

Been there, done that

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
Been here several times before, New expanded pool area is very nice, not interested in excursions , just visited shops and went back onboard early to enjoy a half empty ship

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
Beautiful beach and nice shops to stroll through ...always view the space program exhibit, been here at least 4 times before. No need to book excursions with a great free beach steps away from ship

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Organized, went smoothly. Interesting how there were 2000 more passengers than other ships we’ve been on and the waiting areas weren’t jammed and all went smoothly
