Review summary

I got off this ship Saturday and immediately re-booked it. That’s how incredible it is. So much to do, see and eat. The rooms are beautiful Baja well appointed. Plenty of closet space for this of us that bring 20 outfits on a 7 day cruise experience. My new favorite ship!

Embarkation

Very simple. Arrived at the front end of my 30 min appointment block and it was a breeze.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Fantastic food selections with menus that changed daily. The main dining room always offered something to try that you might not normally eat, such as is tongue and frog legs.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The Bolt, overwater zip-lining and fitness center were great.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The Cruise Director, Chris, the Flying Scotsman was fantastic! The main show in the Mardis Gras Theater with the 2 guys and 1 woman singer was also fantastic. The ship was at full capacity, so both comedy shows I tried to attend were full.

Children's Programs

My 11 year old daughter didn’t attend the kids club.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Iwayan was our room steward. Greeted us by name daily and always made nice small talk. The waiters were all fantastic.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It’s brand new and you can tell. The bathrooms alone are SO much better than other ships I’ve been on.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
So nice. Large 65” (I believe) tv. The shower is large enough to actually take a thorough shower. Beautifully appointed balcony. The bed is comfortable and the pillows are soft and high quality, which is important to me.

Ship tip

It’s huge - wear confortable walking shoes. Also, ignore the upselling the spa staff will impose, but ensure you go to the thermal suite. It’s amazing!

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Easy to navigate. Mardi Grad has its own terminal at the port (#3). I parked directly at the port and walked over to the ship. Very easy.

Cozumel, Mexico

Pasión Island vía Catamarán. Leo & Rafael were some of the best tour guides I’ve ever experienced. Super fun, personable and visibly helping people enjoy themselves the entire time on the island. The catamaran ride over to the island takes about an hour, but it’s stunning!

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
You don’t have to book excursions at this port - everything is right there. Beach, tons of shopping, restaurants, massage huts, dolphin experience. It’s a really beautiful port!

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
Maya Key Private Island excursion - the best I’ve ever experienced! Animals (monkeys, sea lion, macaws a jaguar), private beach, snorkeling, fantastic buffet lunch. This was the highlight of my trip.
