Review summary

Had a great cruise! Was so nice to be back on a ship after a 2 year hiatus.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Painless, less than 20 minutes from front door of terminal to walking onto the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Had great meals at the steakhouse, Italian, sushi, Big Chicken, Panini place, loved the shawarma and several items at Java Blue. Didn’t really care for Chi Bang (miss Ji Ji’s). Guys Burgers was solid as always. Guys Smokehouse was marginal at best. Hibachi was fun but won’t do it again. Emeril’s was OK nothing special.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Shows all over the place which really helps with the crowds. Comedy should be held in theater as Punchliner is way to small and people start lining up for seats 45 minutes to and hour, Carnival should consider a reservation system. Music all over the ship.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All staff we encountered were friendly. Some of the bartenders are really overworked.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship is a game changer for Carnival. Most public areas are huge and I never felt closed in. Loved Serenity area.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Only reason we book Carnival anymore is for Cove Balconies. Cabin felt smaller than Dream Class Coves, bathroom is definitely smaller. No reclining chair on balcony which was a bummer. AC worked great in our cabin. Had connecting cabin with our sailing companions and enjoyed the internal door but wondered why connecting cabins have balconies that can’t be opened up.

Ship tip

Try all the dining concepts on this ship!

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

3 out of 5

Port Canaveral, Florida

4 out of 5
Easiest port to sail from but lacks the drama of a Miami sail away!

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Did self debarkation and walked off the ship without issue.
