Review summary

This return to cruising after a long wait and cancellations, was great! The sparkling new ship was beautiful and fun! The staff had boarding down to simplicity. The welcome lunch was good. The boat drill…OMG…it was fantastically short, simple and painless, no need to dread! This itinerary is overdone, not our favorite, but did give us time to enjoy the beautiful ship! Great shows and activities throughout the week. Poor shopping area and not a lot of stock. The casino was fun with a nice selection of slots. The dining venues were widespread and delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed our time!

Embarkation

Flowed smoothly with minimal lines. Flowed straight to boarding the ship and had cabin access by 1:15!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
This is a broad question! The dining room service was over the top great with our team of Badra, Gede, and Ed! Never a wait for drink refills and rapid service for our meals. We were not thrilled with Carnivals menu but what we chose was always good and our waiters did everything to meet our needs. There is a multitude of specialty restaurants and all was good for what we tried and we heard numerous positive and no negative responses! The buffet was plentiful and set up to have easy access! Seating was very plentiful and we never had a problem locating seating!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The pools were beautiful, not overly crowded, clean and lots of seating. The roller coaster was fascinating and I did not ride it:)

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The Mardi Gras Theater was nice. Seating was comfortable with padded seats and air vents on the upper back to help airflow in the theater. The seats do lean bag just a fraction too far. Loved the midship theater, it’s so gorgeous and versatile. The shows there were always worth seeing. Seating was a little short and the speakers did not carry well outside of the immediate area. And the Christmas show was a blast. The staff made certain every person received a Santa hat with the Carnival logo and a neat jingle bell bracelet!

Children's Programs

We cruised as a couple.

Ship Quality

Though the public areas are somewhat cut-up, it’s beautiful. The winding promenades cause the space to appear small. During this cruise it never felt crowded but I have to wonder how it will feel at capacity.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This balcony cabin was very comfortable, clean and decorated sparsely. The balcony was small but adequate for the two chairs, not lounges. The curtain had to stay shut almost constantly or the cabin would not stay cool. The bathroom was about standard but the shower was nicer tan usual with a great glass door.

Ship tip

Book in the rear of the ship as the hike to the dining area will definitely increase your appetite.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
We live in St Augustine and Port Canaveral is always our favorite. Love the activities in the area…space center is amazing!

Cozumel, Mexico

No excursion, have been here too many times, enjoy shopping and people watching, taking pics of beautiful scenery.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Again no excursion. Cooled off in the huge pool. Not a favorite.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Chair lift to the beach, lift is too expensive, won’t bother again. Actually the ports on this trip are way overdone.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy disembarkation! Didn’t carry bags but picked up ourselves, no hassle, no customs hold up and straight to the garage and our car…out in 15 minutes or less!
